Before School (8.30-8.45am): Our students practise their personalised Outlaw Words on drill cards, both orally and written.
School bell and Morning circle:
Experiential strand: Creative arts, drama, dance, music, science, technology and cooking take place depending on the project for the term and student interest.
Brain break:
Instructional strand: Intervention and acceleration, implementing an evidence-based approach to both literacy and numeracy. These structured sessions cover phonemic targeting and training using a multi-sensory approach.
Lunch: We have lots of sporting equipment, a netball court, indoor space and a sheltered seated area with an edible garden.
Quiet time: Students practise Mindfulness for the last 20 mins of lunch to ‘decompress’ and be ready for learning in the afternoon.
Thematic strand: Students work individually or in a co-constructed group environments on inquiry projects. The emphasis is on collaboration, or partnership working. Workshops also occur at this time. Students can book in for extra help or identified as needing extra support with academic, creative and/or personal challenges.
