The world is changing at an unprecedented rate, and we all need to continuously learn, understand and apply knowledge, ideas and concepts.
The greatest challenge for your child is focusing on what matters and what allows them to make sense of their lives and their dreams. At Summit Point, we are aware that your child can no longer think of themselves as individuals, or simply members of their family, city, or country. We leverage their capacity to learn in order that they see themselves as citizens of Planet Earth, having a responsibility to every other person, regardless of their place of birth, ethnicity, faith or gender.
Our enhanced curriculum raises student consciousness through enhanced inquiry projects. Your child will make kombucha and aromatherapeutic essential oil blends, plant kitchen gardens, and hold Market Days for their entrepreneurial products.
We nurture your child’s love of investigation along with age-appropriate material which will help to encourage creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation and teamwork. We enable them to make independent decisions based on the knowledge they have acquired, to experiment with and investigate ideas, and to create new approaches through their research.

Summit Point’s integrated curriculum is based on educational research into the science surrounding how the human brain learns. Research suggests that there are four major learning systems: processing sensory data, learning by rote, generating ideas and concepts and creativity. Learning by rote is the least effective strategy for an SLD learner, and yet it is the strategy that mainstream education has been built around for the past 200 years.
At Summit Point School, our emphasis is on focusing on the three remaining systems of learning and on the learning process. Students focus on building understanding of ideas and concepts and concept frameworks, and are taught how to access knowledge when they need it. It is possible to make the learning process more equitable by how we treat knowledge in our students' learning process. We help them acquire and understand concepts through multisensory processes, so that they make better connections with their learning.
