Accessible education is a human right. Simple.
Summit Point School is a trailblazer...a revolutionary response to the lack of accessible education for students with Specific Learning Differences...those kids who need a responsive and rethought approach to learning. We support each student to identify and understand their learning differences and profiles, and celebrate their uniqueness. Our approach is built on four pillars: Integrated Curriculum, Holistic Wellbeing, Passion Project-Based Learning, and Restorative Behaviour. These pillars, alongside a focus on Executive Functioning are the non-negotiables that drive what we do.

Each year, our team comes together in a designated block where collaboration begins, bringing their passion and expertise to design new, relevant, content-rich units, delivered in age-appropriate, innovative ways.
We have a culture of ‘teach-up’ strength-based education to engage our specific student cohort. We know that Specific Learning Differences are not simply about learning to read, write and spell, and by expanding their self-belief through mindfulness, physical education, the arts, science, technology and discovery projects, you will witness a paradigm shift in your child’s confidence and abilities. We also know that kids with specific learning difficulties can be easily distracted, easily frustrated or challenged in following the order of instructions, from basic tasks (such as collecting the right equipment in art) to working through a maths equation or problem.
We provide a quiet learning environment, less noise, less visual material on the walls, uncomplicated systems and deliberately paced lessons. Summit Point School’s approach is designed to support executive functioning...for all of our students. These fundamental skills are at the core of what we do and include:
- Visual aids to help with reducing interruptions and disruptions
- Planning and self-monitoring scaffolded into lessons (taught)
- Working memory, time management, and organisation supported by weekly lessons
- Time and space given if a student is overwhelmed, or is finding things challenging.
We encourage you to get to know us. Check out our videos to see what our students and parents are saying, and then come and see our classes in action.
